The nation where the culture of women's face is her husband's business and punish the adultry with stoning. Body of women masked with burqa and such myriad of duplicated under-compulsion rules in Afghanistan proves Afghans existence, rife with the difficulties.
"A Thousand Splendid Suns" shells a measured chapters of suffering, endurance and resilience of Afghans women under the hub of Taliban's rule. Though the Khaled Hosseini narrates the situation in Afghanistan via fictional story, it tags the fact of denied discrimination to Afghan women.
"One could not count the moons that shimmer on her roofs, or the thousand splendid suns that hide behind her walls". This dialogue bewteen Laila and her father, Hakim before they leave their war wracked city embeds the entire story within its lines for me. So, shall you read and see folks!
