With the salvation we seek, compassion is the key way.
Reading the books brewed with spiritual inks by spiritual beholders has always been beyond the domain of my realization. However, it always rendered the traces of key to tame the mind and open the heart of ordinary being in me that keeps me hooked to read though.
This book lenses us through the overview of the basis of Buddhism emphasizing on the nurturing of compassion and cultivating habitual meditation in us. All the narrations in the book are of the wisdom of His Holliness, The Dalai Lama that was delivered at New York City in 1999. Meditation is called Gom(སྒོམ) in Tibetan and Bhutanese language. Which interprets as 'familiarize'. That is to focus and familiarize with the Object that we choose to take as our focus point.
We are not born with hatred, it is what we have learned. Well! we can always learn to be compassionate as well. As we embark upon our journey to enlighten our soul, igniting the basic understanding of Buddhism is the very first, initial step. Our practice of Buddism can be much as potters work their clay. For we need to mould the inner equilibrium from the mire world of suffering.
Yummylicious extract from the book: "We must come to realize that others are also part of our society. We can think of our society as a body, with arms and legs as a part of it. Ofcourse the arm is different from leg. However if something happens to leg, the hand should reach down to help. Similiarly, when something is wrong within our society, we must help because it is part of us".
