A Day Hike to Taktsang

Sweep off your feet and dive to reach the fertile hub of hikers and trekkers in Bhutan~Taktsang.
Where everybody is~Taktsang

Taktsang has invariably rippled its essence of wonder even beyond the environ of Bhutan with the towering temple on the jaw-dropping cliff blessed by Guru Padmasambhava.  It is the place where everybody plans to embrace its unique stand and I am glad that it happened this time, for it is the place where I  longed to visit.

It is about two hours walk from the base camp mapped at the foot of Taktsang to reach the absolute oaisis of Taktsang. And, takes less than five hours to complete a round walk. The route towards Taktsang measures the  stretched string of  roller-coaster thrill ride and it breaks the psychological barrier of walking with its well established route ascending through the fresh woods. As we ascend up through the beautifully riddled route with blue pines (Pinus wallichiana), brown oaks (Quercus semecarpifolia) rhododendron and poplar (Populus rotundifolia), it value adds our flow of hike with ease. The alternate presence of bench at a certain interval of route and cool jerking of water from tap in the middle of journey shows the kind gesture of Bhutanese to quell the thirst and relax the tensed limbs of hikers. To get on to the peak of Taktsang after tensed limbs and exhausted energy, I felt like to dug in my heels to settle there. We get to experience a vibe of being in cloud nine phase.

The cliff of the Taktsang engraved with the relics of myth related to Guru Padmasamdhava may sound as an obscure myth for some. For me being a breed of buddist, I got to bestow with blessing of spiritual soul to see the statue of Guru Sungjonma~Speaking statue, Guru Tshangyed (eight manifestation of Guru Padmasambhawa), Tiger's nest (Tiger believed to be the manifested embodiment of Guru's consort~Yeshey Tshogyal), holy water and many more. Taktsang is unmistakenly, the bedrock of blessing as it is one among many other most sacred site in Bhutan. And, elixir of wonder for wanderlust lads to chill. All in all Taktsang is an oaisis of Shangrila, fertile for its wonder, spirituality, peace, blessing and many more depending upon one's interpretation.
